Closing the Workplace Gender Data Gap

  • Published on 22 March 2026

Understanding the Workplace Gender Data Gap in Bangladesh

Bangladesh continues to make progress toward gender equality, yet a critical barrier remains — the lack of comprehensive, gender-disaggregated workplace data. Without clear and consistent information on representation, access, leadership, safety, and pay equity, organizations struggle to identify the structural issues holding women back.

At GCN, we work with organizations across sectors to gather workplace data that reveals gaps and guides actionable solutions. These insights help companies understand where inequities persist and what can be done to create fair, inclusive, and future-ready workplaces.

Why the Data Gap Matters

A lack of reliable workplace gender data limits:

● Visibility into women’s participation at different organizational levels

● Understanding of barriers related to recruitment, retention, and promotion

● Accountability for leadership teams and decision-makers

● Progress tracking, making it difficult to measure change over time
